Wednesday nights just got a serious upgrade. Palm Beat Club, the DJ collective run by internationally acclaimed trumpeter Jay Phelps, is bringing its signature fusion of  live brass and modern beats to Boisdale’s Hine Bar &amp; Garden Terrace every week. Picture the hypnotic rhythms of Future Beats, Afro House, Amapiano, Baile Funk and Soulful House, now layered with soul-stirring live brass, weaving through every track like liquid gold.

From 7 PM, Jay Phelps takes full control of the decks, blurring the line between DJ and live performance. A virtuoso with a horn and a master selector behind the booth, he’s played alongside legends like Wizkid, Amy Winehouse and Wynton Marsalis - now, he’s bringing that same energy to London’s midweek scene. Lush brass lines swirl through deep bass grooves, melodies dance over pulsating rhythms and just when you think you know where the night is going, Jay flips the script with a live riff that changes everything.

Before the music kicks in, ease into the evening with social hours from 5–7 PM, featuring £5 Innis &amp; Gunn Lager, £6 Chapel Down Sparkling Wine and an expertly curated selection of cocktails.

Expect Jay’s fresh take on crowd-faourites like “Soweto”, “Jerusalema” and “Vula Vula”, all infused with his unmistakable brass stylings.

Come for the beats, stay for the brass, because when live horns meet deep grooves, something electric happens

Few artists can embody the soul of Louis Armstrong quite like Gwyn Jay Allen. His ability to capture the infectious joy, rich tones and effortless swing of the jazz pioneer has taken him from the streets of London to the grandest stages in the world. 

His deep connection to Armstrong’s music led to the creation of ‘I Love Louis’, an album and stage show that has mesmerised audiences worldwide. Featuring collaborations with Grammy-winning trumpeter Roy Hargrove and European Jazz Artist of the Year Alex Wilson, the album toured across Europe, the U.S. and beyond, culminating in an extraordinary performance at Louis Armstrong’s House Museum in New York. His command of the stage saw him perform Armstrong’s classics live with the 60-piece BBC Orchestra and Big Band at The London Palladium on Sir Michael Parkinson’s show, bringing a timeless sound to an entirely new audience.

Gwyn’s career reads like a who’s who of musical royalty. His vocals and percussion have graced performances and recordings with Diana Ross, Maxi Priest, Jamiroquai, Basement Jaxx and Herbie Hancock, blending jazz, soul and gospel influences into every note he sings. His rich storytelling, deep gravelly voice and mastery of Armstrong’s signature style have earned him acclaim from Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, The Jazz Café and the Wigan International Jazz Festival, where audiences were left spellbound by his ability to channel the spirit of Satchmo himself.

Expect a night brimming with Armstrong’s most beloved hits, from the uplifting swing of "Hello, Dolly!" and "When The Saints Go Marching In" to the tender beauty of "What a Wonderful World". 

For one night, Boisdale will transform into a smoky New Orleans jazz joint, where the music flows as freely as the good times. Gwyn Jay Allen brings Louis Armstrong’s world to life, not as an imitation, but as a passionate, deeply personal tribute to one of jazz’s greatest figures.
